We are committed to sustainable, environmentally- and community-friendly hosting.

For both of our retreats, we primarily use solar energy for electricity, earth-friendly cleaning products, low-electricity and low-water appliances where possible. We encourage guests to compost (facilities are available at both - our garden appreciates you!)We ask that you help us in being good stewards of our natural resources, especially at Little River Retreat, where the water is sourced from a natural spring that has a hard time in drought conditions.

We encourage our guests to share in the abundance of the Midcoast and enjoy our many land trusts, preserves, and state parks, while also being careful of local wildlife and plant life.

We also encourage you to dine, eat, and enjoy local businesses, culture and musicians. We employ local folks, and are committed to giving back to our communities in ways large and small - we hope you will do the same, to help us keep the Midcoast magic!
